Issues that are fixed
Issue 1: Caching issue
Under certain rare conditions, a cache item could end up in an inconsistent state. Therefore, the AppFabric Cache service may crash because of an unhandled exception. Examples of such an exception include the following.
Exception 1
System.NullReferenceException at Microsoft.ApplicationServer.Caching.MultiDirectoryHashtable.PreProcess(), with the error message “Object reference not set to an instance of an object.”
Exception 2
Microsoft.Fabric.Common.ReleaseAssertException at Microsoft.Fabric.Common.ReleaseAssert.Fail(), with the error message “Operation of type COMMIT_DELETE is not expected to fail during postoperation - System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.”
Known issues
When you uninstall any cumulative updates for Microsoft AppFabric 1.1, you may encounter a dialog box that states "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." In this situation, the cumulative update will not be uninstalled. To work around this issue, follow these steps:

Download Microsoft AppFabric 1.1 for Windows Server from here.

Open a command prompt, and then run the .exe file together with the /?'option. For example, run the following:
WindowServerAppFabricSetup_x86.exe /?
-
Leave the AppFabric 1.1 for Windows Server Setup Wizard dialog box (which has many setup commands) open when it appears.

Use Windows Explorer to move to the root folder of the boot drive. You should see a newly created temporary folder that has a randomly generated name, such as C:\ced4e5c208fd0a43edc4a195edfe47.

Copy that temporary directory to a new location, such as to C:\appfabrictempfiles.

Close the AppFabric 1.1 for Windows Server Setup Wizard dialog box.

When you now try to uninstall the cumulative update and are prompted for the location of the MSI, you can point it to the "packages" subfolder in the copy of the temporary directory that you created (such as to C:\appfabrictempfiles\packages), and the uninstallation process should be successful.

Permissions requirements
Before you apply this cumulative update, you must have administrative credentials on the computer where plan to you install the software.

Restart information
You may have to restart the computer after you apply this cumulative update package.

To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.
